Ramp Camp 2012

by Louis on July 5, 2012

I have written about Ramp Camp in the past. This, I think my 8th year, went very well considering we had 90+ temperatures four days that week. It was grueling, but the kids were great and the family was thrilled. We got pretty good coverage in a local paper as well. Yachad, the organization that runs the camp and on whose board I sit, does a great job of engaging volunteers, making community connections and helping the built environment serve us better.

Here is a photo of the crew (I am the slightly older guy on the left):

and the (mostly) completed project

I am glad I did it, glad to work with these great kids, but also very glad it is done.

Happy Fourth…this ramp should help freedom ring for this young man and family!

Great job Louis! Fantastic approach to educating the youth of the community about aging and accessibility.
